Synonym:
Lithology and Thickness
Comprises a lower clastic unit and an upper carbonate unit. The clastic unit consists of red pebbly sandstone with rootlets overlain by gypsiferous sandstone. The carbonate unit is a very distinctive chocolate-brown sugary dolomite with characteristic white and brown zoned rhombs embedded in brown dolomitic micrite. Occasionally exhibits algal lamination. 30m thick at type section.
